Will DDR3 Video Cards work with ddr2 Memory?

I have a 5 yr old computer with 4 Gig of ddr2 memory installed. I want to upgrade to a Video Card that happens to use ddr3 Ram. Will this work in my system???

The Video Card also is a PCI Express 2.1 x 16 and my system has an open PCI Express x 16 slot. Will this be compatible or not?|||oh course!. its backwards compatible!|||Speed and technology of the video card are not related to memory on the computer, as long as the card uses PCI-e and the motherboard has that, then it will link by default.|||for the PCI express yes it will work the 2.1 it just a faster speed like usb 2.0 and reg usb.

The video card has its own ram it shouldnt mess with your ddr2 if u tried to put ddr3 ram in the ddr2 then yes it wouldnt work, but i think the video card should work fine|||Yes the video card ram is independent from the system ram. Yes the card will fit right in that x16 slot.
