Can I use ddr3 video card even if my motherboard uses DDR2 for RAM?

I have P5QPL-AM motherboard, and I know that I cant use a RAM DDR3, how about a Video Card DDR3, can I use it for my motherboard? (I'm using NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT right now)

for example, this video card

I miss read your post, but still...

HIS H467QR1GH Radeon HD 4670 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Just because the card has DDR3, doesn't mean your motherboard has to be DDR3. This is just the memory that is installed on the video card. As long as your motherboard can support the PCI-E 16x, you'll be fine.|||Absolutely.

The type of memory used on the video card doesn't need to match the main system. In fact, video cards almost always use faster memory than the main system. As new cards are developed, the manufacturers fit them with the fastest memory possible (GDDR5 these days) to maximise performance. A modern graphics card is effectively a PC within a PC, having its own processor and memory.

Even the most modern of graphics cards with GDDR5 memory will work perfectly well with standard DDR memory, never mind DDR2 or 3. The only requirement is a PCIe x16 slot on your motherboard and (for most cards now) a 6-pin PCIe power connector which cards now need in addition to what they can draw through the motherboard slot.|||Yes, it will as long as you have the correct slot and it's compatible with your motherboard (ie. AGP, PCI, PCIe etc)

There's newer video cards with GDDR5 for example which is apart from the motherboard RAM, you don't see any motherboards around with DDR5 memory do you?|||Of course. If not, video cards that used GDDR3 or GDDR5 memory (which is the majority of video cards made today) wouldn't be usable in *any* computer. There are no motherboards in existence that use GDDR3 or GDDR5 memory for RAM.|||You can use!! There is no dependancy on type of RAM on motherboard and video card. You can even use video cards with GDDR5.|||Yes. Its possible.|||NO
