Is DDR3 video card compatible to replace DDR2 video card?

am planning to replace my video card to Nvidia 1gb GT220

my computer is aLmost 2 years and my PC specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core@4200+

2GB DD2 RAM

ATI Radeon x1550@ 512mb

Gigabyte Motherboard supports PCI-E video card

pls advice..

thanks|||Yes, that will work just fine. Both cards use a PCI Express x16 slot and the type of memory they use does not matter to the computer—as long as you have a PSU (power supply) that can handle the card, and a motherboard with a PCI Express x16 slot, you can run whatever video card you want in your computer.
